An Albuquerque, NM company that produces more than four million tortillas and a line of prepared foods is being lauded as an example to follow when it comes to saving energy.
Albuquerque Tortilla Company, which grew from a neighborhood shop to an enterprise with $20 million in annual revenues during the last 23 years, has reduced its energy consumption by periodically turning off freezers and coolers which can stay cold for hours when left unopened.
